When to Go to the Emergency Room Instead

Go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 if you have swelling that makes it hard to breathe or swallow, swelling spreading toward your eye or down your neck, a jaw injury you cannot open or close, uncontrolled bleeding after an accident, or a head injury. Everything below, we can take care of.

Is This a Dental Emergency?

If it hurts, it counts. The most common reasons people call us the same day:

  • A knocked-out tooth
  • A cracked, chipped, or broken tooth
  • A toothache that keeps you up at night
  • A lost filling or a crown that came off
  • Swelling in the gum, face, or jaw, or an abscess
  • Bleeding that will not stop
  • A broken denture or partial
  • Pain around an implant
  • A wisdom tooth that has flared up

Limitless Dental® treats adults. If you are not sure whether what you have counts, call and describe it. We would rather tell you it can wait than have you sit on something that cannot.

Not sure what to do before you get here? Our full guide covers the first steps for each of these, including what to do overnight and on weekends: What to Do During a Dental Emergency in Jersey City.

Getting You Out of Pain Comes First

That is the whole job of the first visit. You will get an x-ray, and if we need to see the bone in three dimensions we will take a 3D scan. Dr. Nick finds what is actually causing the pain, which is not always the tooth you think, then tells you what it will take to fix and what it will cost before he starts.

You will feel numbing before anything sharp. For anyone anxious, or for longer treatment, IV sedation is available.

One Visit Instead of Three

We have our own lab, our own mill, and three 3D printers on site. A crown that most offices send to an outside lab, leaving you in a temporary for weeks, is something we can often design, make, and fit here the same day. You walk out with a tooth, not a placeholder.

If the Tooth Cannot Be Saved

Losing a tooth does not mean months with a gap. In many cases we can take the tooth out and place the implant in the same visit. Dr. Nick teaches this procedure to other dentists nationally, so it is a core part of what this practice does rather than something we occasionally attempt.

Not every tooth is a candidate. It depends on how much bone is there and whether infection needs to settle first, and the 3D scan taken that day tells us.

How an immediate implant works: the tooth comes out and the implant goes in during the same visit.

We tell you the number before we start. No surprises afterward.

We take most PPO plans, plus cash, check, and major cards. If you do not have insurance, ask about our in-house Dental Savings Plan, which is not insurance: a flat yearly fee with no yearly maximum, no deductible, no claim forms, and no waiting period. For larger treatment we work with CareCredit, Proceed Finance, Sunbit, and Cherry so you can spread the cost out.

Where to Find Us

314 Coles Street, Jersey City, NJ 07310, in the Cast Iron Loft Building, with free garage parking so you are not circling the block in pain. We are privately owned, not a corporate chain, so the person who treats you is the person who owns the practice.
